BIO

Patrick McCaffrey is a marimbist based out of Boston, MA. Patrick received his undergraduate degree from San Jose State University under the direction of Galen Lemmon. While studying there, Patrick regularly performed and was the principal percussionist of both the Wind Ensemble and the Symphony Orchestra; the latter of which he was a featured soloist. He also premiered many new works for solo and chamber marimba. Alongside being the principal percussionist for his undergraduate performance ensembles, Patrick was a successful competitor in the Central California Percussive Arts Society Percussion Competition. After leaving SJSU, Patrick went on to pursue a Master’s Degree from Boston Conservatory at Berklee under the tutelage of the world renowned Nancy Zeltsman. 
Outside of academic and classical playing, Patrick specializes in adapting the marimba for pop music settings. He regularly performs and collaborates with Grammy Award winning artist Matt Alber. With Matt, Patrick has performed on the stages of the Great American Music Hall, Swedish American Hall, and Feinstein’s at the Nikko. It’s in the crossover of classical and pop music that Patrick finds his comfort zone. He plans to collaborate with more and various artists outside of classical music.
